The issue is when taking out the engine it won't come out with the clutch bolted to the flywheel.
Taking off the fan and w/pump and crank pulley gives just enough room to unbolt the clutch and push the clutch back into the bellhousing and remove the engine in order to extract the clutch.
Either way, it's a lot of work.
