I always follow the maxim of start simple and build up the complexity, I have a 94 +8 so the same as yours.
With the low mileage when was the fuel in the tank last used and replaced with fresh?
The RPI ignition amplifiers are normally reliable, mine has 55,000 miles on it with no problems. Before you start dismantling and removing make sure there is a good clean earth with the black wire, this is a common issue and will cause intermittent issues. It is also worth checking all the connections to the coil to make sure they are clean and tight.
Next I would check all your ignition leads, I assume they are original which will make them 27 years old and could well have dried out and cracked, be good to replace them anyway if original. As suggested above starting the engine in the dark and looking for any arching is an indicator.
Look in the dizzy to see if there are any tell tale arching marks, if yes replace the arm.

Sometimes a good blast is needed to clear the cobwebs especially as it appears to have just been doing short trips (which are worse for an engine), a good 30 to 50 miles(I know you have done 30 miles on trip 2 a couple more may good) to get everything to temperature and proper running can tell a good deal.
