Can you explain your spline repair ?
Hi Laurens - my spline was repaired (I believe) per 2) in Phils post on the 5 speeder crankshaft ... Phil did show me there was a slight concave in the S&S spline faces which reduced the contact area! My thanks again to Phil for sorting the fix and spending the time to explain it to me, as well as sorting a quick-fix kit for my old regulator (ie ready to fit!).

2/ if the splines on the shaft are more severely damaged then fit a second undersize hub but filing the damaged shaft splines in order to recover the original shape as far as possible - it should be noted that in this case the nitrided hard skin will be compromised and so a good tight fit is even more important
