I guess what really bothers me (and this is coming from someone who wont be able to buy one for quite some time), is that Morgan found it acceptable to send out such defective looking cars to a car show. If it were me and it was my company, there is no way in the world that I would go to a car show with a vehicle that was anything other than absolute perfection.
When you are trying to exciting a potential customer base about your vehicle, showing something with rust, etc. on it, is simply unacceptable. I would much sooner stay up all night detailing the car than try and pass something off that was rusty.
Much of the rest of the vehicle was absolute perfect looking, so why let such an obvious thing slide? I realize they were down to the wire with customs not releasing the vehicle for a while, but I still think they could have upped their game.
