If some of the fittings are genuine 'chrome on brass' as the ads often say, then easy to remove the chrome layer and re-polish the brass
I did look into this Jon, but I believe the bonnet catch knobs are polished stainless, I also looked at brass plating but it can be expensive.
In the end, and when you have a good machinist as a mate, it ends up making more sense to turn up new bonnet and side screen knobs from some brass bar.
After changing all 8 chrome/stainless knobs to polished solid brass, I'm considering adding a parallel section of brass pipe to delete this MMC exhaust tailpipe finisher abomination.

You'd only see this section of the pipe, and only if you're looking from the rear, or at a low line of sight.

My thinking is the subtle addition of a flash of polished brass low down on the the car could work well
