I'm now swinging towards powder coating this section of the tailpipe in matt white to hark back to the exhaust finishes sometimes seen on 1960's competition cars.

It's only the tailpipe section so I don’t need a super high temp and expensive ceramic coating, your average high temp powder coat will tolerate up to 500c so should be fine that far from the manifold and cat.

If it ages to a slightly off-white effect, which I expect it will, it'll only add an authentic patina.

A friends father had a lovely Bristol engined AC Ace in the early 90's that had the white treatment on its exhaust manifold, it had yellowed off with heat to a lovely dusty cream and looked absolutely stunning!
