I haven't been on here in a while as I sold my last Morgan Aero 8 in 2020 and bought a Porsche 718 Spyder.

I am currently in the market for a new "toy" and I was considering getting another Aero 8. I previously had an S3 and an S5. I still look at the cars and to my eye they are simply beautiful. Drive wise they are no match for the Spyder but looks wise, they beat it imho.

My last S5 I had from new and in the first year I had it, it spent 6 months back at the factory. Thereafter, for the next four years, it was back and forth the factory like a yo yo with long periods without it trying to resolve various issues, some of which were never resolved from collection to me selling it (i.e. the drivers side window constantly slipped causing a gap, a loud noise in the ear when driving and water ingress when it rained.). The S5 simply tarnished my feelings towards Morgan hence the reason I sold it.

However, I always loved the rear of the S3 compared to the S5 - the S5 bulbous rear always reminded me of a spiders abdomen!!! The S3 rear continued the feeling of motion you get looking at the sweeping front wings down over the running boards, then the sweeping rear wing and sweeping rear light moulding, not to mention the swoop and scoop of the boot lid ducktail. So it is the S3 I was considering (or S4). Given that they are now 15 years old though I had concerns over parts availability, service, and ageing issues.

Reading this forum has not only reminded me of the heartache I had with my last Aero, it has confirmed what I feared - the factory may not be able to source parts and in some cases service has not been great. All those anxiety issues I had with my last Aero came flooding back as a much needed reminder. Thanks all for sharing and being so open. As someone said earlier on this thread in relation to their Max, the beauty belied the driving experience - that was certainly true in my case. Think I'm going to go buy a production car instead - I understand the emotional attachment mind people talk about on this thread - watching my S5 drive away when I sold it was like a relationship break up for days after. Just like a relationship break up though.....I'm back looking again remembering on the good bits. I needed the reality check reading the forum.

Thanks Morganeers - Happy days :-)

Good things come to those who wait but they've usually been left by those who got there first!
