I think with a modern number like that you are only asking for trouble.
If you get stopped for illegal plates, I'm sure they will look for other issues to do you for as well.
I have a very old three digit number on my 2011 car and I run the legal white and yellow plates. As has been said on here before, plod arn't normally as stupid as they look.
