Absolutely, but we also need to address the pressure and role the opposition played in all this, aided and fuelled by the press trying to bring the government down for the lack of PPE being available for an unprecedented epidemic. When you create a perfect storm and an environment which creates a pressure to act, you also encourage the suspension of independent review and governance of such transactions, that is usually in place for such transactions during normal times. The unprecedented pressure to act swiftly creates the opportunity for misappropriation and fraud, not just with expedient business connections, but also fraudulent overseas suppliers of which there were many.
