A quick update. With some sunny days here this week the batteries were full on the 15th and so provided power overnight into the morning of the 16th. On the 16th the sun shone and we were very nearly off grid. The battery was empty at 08:00 & the heating kettle etc coming on meant we imported 360W .
We used in the day 10.08 kWh, the rest or 96% came from the array & the batteries.

On to today and the batteries ran out at 08:00 again just as the sun rose so at nearly midday We have consued 1.36 kWh & only imported 360W.

Over the month we have used 187 kWh of which 115 kWh was imported & the batteries saved me 72 kWh or 39%.
Payback based upon mid winter is 9 years. Of course cloudy dark days will push this back but it does show how the batteries really help.
