If you can use a grease gun and tighten a nut correctly without using torque wrench you're nearly there John
Back in the early 70's I had a engineering lecturer who was ex RAF WW2 era, that told us there were only three torque values to worry about.. Tight.. Bloody tight.. ( or words to that effect ) and Snapped off.
