Just thought I would “end?” This.
Replaced wash wipe stalk still had the short occasionally, guess not that then.
BUT as all the wires appeared to be sound, using a warble wand. (Wire tracer).
& after refitting that plug by the wiper motor. (Had it disconnected so I could trace wires from there) the short disappeared. It appears that the plug is a little loose. The cars vibration causes it to move about 1/2 way to disconnect. It then shorts the washer lead, within the plug. Trouble is I can not see how. All the terminals within the plug seem separate. Present fix is a clip that holds the plug together.
