I absolutely love my 92 Plus 8. BUT! I am a little underwhelmed by the standard SS single exhaust note. I am about to invest in a Librands twin system with SS manifolds. Spoke to Nick, lovely guy, spent a bit of time explaining options to me. I have ordered what he recc based on wanting to have a fruity note, but not a headache. Waiting on parts to be assembled currently. In the meantime, another owner has said he was a bit disappointed with this setup and has since gone for something with more deci balls
and is delighted. Its a fairly sizeable chunk of money to invest so want to get it right first time. Any experience/advice would be much appreciated. I live in Cork, Southern Ireland, so these beasts are just not around to compare.

You're in luck Rick/ I had my 1990 system on my UK Plus 8 (an aftermarket single ss system) swapped out for a twin system. I was fortunate to find a branch manifold MMM set (1977 to 1986) on ebay.co.uk in the Rover parts-for-sale section, though they could not serve Rovers or LRs. 20 quid!! I bought rest in the higher grade ss that one must be careful in buying. The cheaper stuff shears. Been there. Some Morgan sellers sell lower quality at the same price as higher quality. Looks the same.
You have this one I believe. You have been advised already about the stuff to buy already. Just in case, there are two different types of silencers you will normally be offered. They are very different but look identical. They change bhp to a different degree and sound as well. Your choice must be specified on order.
Your luck continues because I had my swap done by Kevin Vernon, who used to be UK's Tudor Motors before retiring to private race preparation. I then have done, myself, the same swap in Canada, for free, for two pals with Plus 8s, 1993 and a 1995. (we removed the lambdas (not a possibility for the UK) and re-chipped both the lambdas on your car are merely a choice of downpipes.
I wrote the swaps up in an article with pictures on gomog. With that article, any local competent mechanic or machinist with minimal welding ability can do the job on your valences.
A most important note. Though an exhaust note (I am very picky about just that as you are) can be affected by many things, its
tone change is most remarkably improved with the choice of resonator, whether it is a twin or single system. Resonators (often called exhaust tips), deal with high pitched sounds. In the case of manufacturer, exhaust sound is regulated and monitored by bureaucrats & politicians, who do not always choose the sound we may like. For example, I do not like a LOUD sound. But I do like a DEEP one I can manage with my use of the accelerator. V8s are world famous for their exhaust notes. I simply bought clamp on sets (
(they are cheap and pretty from the US) until I had exactly the tone I wanted, and then bought the weld-on version .
