The one undeniable truth with politicians when trying to gain your vote is that they will overpromise, and once they have your vote they'll under deliver.

Local administration should just be that local and not really used as a tool for national politics

National level politics IMHO should be Parliament has X number of seats, when voting you vote for the party of your favour (not an individual for an area) and then when all the votes are in the split of the vote is distributed amongst the seats in Parliament, there by it would without any of this second past the post nonsense proper % representation of the will of the people and not differing areas gaining seats by disproportional votes.

We didn't get to vote in the recent local elections here in North Dorset for some reason, maybe they'ed drowned in sewage overflow? .
