Buying ours was the right move. Already done 4k+ miles since late July. It has a couple of niggles as I have posted about. Handbrake and now gauges failing. Going into Williams to be sorted. No signs of coolant problems.
As with other Morgans some design decisions are open to discussion. No 12V power socket but two usb sockets tucked away in the back of the glovebox. Not the best location but liveable with. Stowage leaves a lot to be desired. The tank capacity confusion needs better clarification but assuming 250miles for refill leaves a margin for error. We were doung 200+ miles a day so refill near to the hotel on return meant no “ range anxiety”.
The 500+ mile journey home went well. 2 fuel stops, coffee, lunch and comfort stops and the improved ride over the trad meant less fatigue and relaxed.
The car drives well in auto mode. Spirt/Sport+ are good too with the paddles. Normal auto copes well with kickdown response! I can imagine how a Plus Six with the extra bhp/torque can take the car beyond some peoples’ skill level !
On the recent Scotland trip I was getting 50mpg on some days, dropping to 45 mpg on faster road days, normal auto mode.
Not a cheap car but no regrets at all despite the little niggles. It’s a Morgan after all !
Waiting for early model problems to be found and sorted is the answer!
