This was not a five minute job but eventually success came in detaching the breather connection. Detached the windscreen washer bottle to give some elbow room, placed a mirror on a wooden offcut wedged to the inner wing, hung a small torch from a heater tube, applied a good squirt of silicone spray on the clip and maneouved a small flat bladed screwdriver with the aid of the mirror to prize the clip off.

Next task will be to insert a bung into the inlet manifold hole - about 15mm ID. Then fix a long hose to the male portion of the plastic right angled connector - about 9.5mm ID. All done by feel with subsequent verification via the mirror!

Well done for getting it off. Surprised you needed to lever it off, but whatever worked is good. I found the OD of the inlet manifold connection to be around 12-13mm.
