The Jump Start method you described is the one in our 2009 Roadster Handbook.

Having said that, It is not that easy to get a clean attachment on the Starter Motor terminal on our Roadster in daylight. In the dark it would be a nightmare. The plug and socket idea seems far safer.

Another R100 owner reported that when he was jump started in Dubai, using this method it fried the Engine Management Chip and the Battery. I suspect they connected the wrong leads

I would imagine an Auto electrician could rig us such a system for you.
