A bit disappointing, however, if you consider the threads on any screw are like the teeth of a saw or the surface of a metal file, there would seem to be the chance that the minimal amount of paint likely to be left holding on around the rim of a hole through painted metal... add to that water ingress and the outcome over time seems likely...For sure mechanical equipment can be designed built and maintained to last, but I suspect that takes a bit more time effort and cost..?
