In Italy you can get reduced insurance for certified historic vehicles but to get the certification they must be original.

That won't be easy or cheap. Engines are scarce and the last couple of rebuilt ones i saw available were in the States at around $20k per go.

Still worth a call with the specialists to see what the latest is on them. Unfortunately the twin cam engine was peculiar to the one model and not much was carried over from the single cam version. Might be easier to find a complete car if the twin cam lump is a must.
