That's an interesting point. Searching at
Intellectual Property Office the name "HOG" is indeed registered by Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc.for anything related to motorbikes and motorcycling.
The word "MOG", however, isn't registered at all for motor vehicle manufacture. It
is registered for printed publications "relating to motor and motorised vehicles" by Alphadeal Limited, the publisher of Mog magazine. So the boot is on the other foot, MMC could face action from the magazine if they started using the name "Mog" in publications!
"Mog" is also registered by HarperCollins Publishers Limited, presumably in relation to the children's picture books.
