The Gems V8's were delivered with standard Range Rover fuel maps. For the 4.6 models particularly this compromised the running. Mark Adams developed maps specifically for Morgan which are widely acclaimed. Somewhat tongue-in-cheek I would suggest that a Mark Adams chip is mandatory for a 4.6....
Having said all that Paul's +8 is a Hotwire which I know nothing about.
