My first ever job - bench engineer in Basingstoke - Steve (the chief engineer in the company) used to put all the phone lines on busy for his morning show and we all laughed.
Was it him that used to phone one take-away and ask a question and then cross connect it to another one and wait until they worked out what was going on?
I listened to his stuff on and off for years.
