More room in a Golf Convertible. I've owned a couple of MINIs (though not a convertible). Test drove a Golf Convertible a few years ago (which turned out to have engine oil pressure problems). Liked that as a car, but there is a lack of boot security as access can be gained by dropping the rear seats from inside the cabin. Manual hood IIRC which was a plus point to me.
