Suggest you stay away from OE replacements Nigel as this is a very common issue with them. Most people fit these (image link) universal ones cut to suit. The material is more supple than that of OE. Mine first leaked and then split whilst car still under warranty after just a few thousand miles. No issue since five years down the road.

I had hoped the Quaife R&P gaiters would be better than the terrible Jack Knight ones..but not to be.
It doesn't take much to remove the R&P and install them, or, in the
case of JK, fashion a center piece. JK (if the can be reached) and Andre Koopmann (Germany) sell kits for the JKs.
