fwiw having owned an Aero S5 & watched with horror at the recurring production quality issues of the CX cars, and the lary kickdown behaviour of the Plus Six... I'd plump for an Aero. Find one that's been used a bit rather than a garage queen, and serviced on the dot. If you can, SSL suspension makes for a more comfortable and engaging car to drive & be a passenger in - and it's tuneable to your preference. There's a fairly well-used S4 coming up for auction this weekend that if nothing else would give you an idea of what's available & real-world pricing

Thanks for the auction link also, two things struck me, as you say that’s a fairly well used Aero having 45K ish miles on it. I’m sure that will depress the value a fair bit, it’s pretty brutal out there meantime in the used performance car market - I speak from first hand experience - having recently taken a hit a lovely 992T Porsche that I’d owned from new.
These auctioneers do take the proverbial with their charges - 15% buyer premium - I’m clearly in the wrong line of work….
