Models didn't change rapidly in the trad era.
The CX Plus Four is on it's 4th version in 5 years. You have:-

My MY22 car is a great improvement vs the launch cars but it was sold back to a dealer with the brake & rad recall. MMC then have had what nearly 12 months of colours offers which made it unsaleable.
That plus the constant model upgrade meant I bought a 2 year old car for £57k with 1900 miles when new it was £81k.
So yes to survive MMC have created higher depreciation in my opinion. Good for me but I wonder over the markey going forward.
For the trads I think younger buyers aren't interested. My kids all are no petrol heads.
