Cain's wheel cylinder tool arrived at noon - just as I was re-fitting the n/s rear wheel cylinder on our 4/4. Made the job very easy.

When I wheeled it out of the garage on Monday there was a puddle of brake fluid under the n/s rear wheel & the level in the master cylinder had dropped around 8mm. I would not have been able to, safely, drive it to a garage for repair. Brands Hatch Morgans were called on Monday afternoon - cylinder arrived yesterday.

Aren't we lucky with our specialist suppliers.

BTW, the part number on the replacement wheel cylinder is: CW15953.

Also bought a new Easy-Bleeder as mine hasn't been used for over 40 years - assuming I could find it, I suspect all the rubber seals would be u/s.

The old wheel cylinder rubber seal had become very hard - I assume that was the cause of the instant fail.
