Have you found out what happens with these double screw versions if you forget to release the Tenax fasteners prior to working the roof mechanism?

Hopefully they will take the strain but I'm wondering if they will rip out of the bodywork causing even more damage than the originals or, equally as bad, rip the hood fabric?
Prior to our first purchase, we hired a Morgan for the weekend. It had been well used probably by drivers inexperienced with Morgans and noticeably, the hood was badly ripped in the vicinity of the tenax fasteners.
So no real substitute for doing things in the right order.
Maybe best to keep it down and dress up warm?
And yes….think you must be holding the record!,
