Apologies Howard, your first post was quite thin on detail and my tiny nerd brain was trying to clarify some of the criteria.

May I ask why you would not consider a BEV (if you have a second car as the long haul cover) as they are becoming quite practical these days. Given the current slump in sales they can be had at better pricing now.

I love the fact that Tesla is so closely aligned with the Cult of Elon and removes any other identity from the company. It's as if he did the entire thing himself. He did get very involved with the Cybertruck design. So many other smart people being overlooked. Having said that Tesla is one of the few BEV companies I would bet on in the future race with China for cars.
