Are you suggesting that the top of the wing sidelights were fitted but not connected Graham? They would make good daylight running lights with some led bulbs in them!

I just can't remember when that started! The wing lights did not meet the new size regs, whenever that came out, but MMC continued to fit them, with the cabling, to allow dealers/owners to reconnect - they are, after all, a fairly iconic part of a trad Mog
They would make rather good running lights - but I'm not sure you'll find any LED conversions small enough to fit inside the housing... (The ones I bought will be fitted to the Land Rover, eventually!
).
