I remember that my year 2000 +8 did not have the wing lights connected and this was done by the dealer at my request.
Graham, you can find small LED bulbs to fit as running lights. They are quite bright and white, so I have also changed the bulbs in the headlight pod so that they match in colour. Looks very good, even though I say it myself.
