That oil tank seems to be placed to take up maximum room, and with the full sized battery where it is, that space is pretty much unusable when it could be quite useful. If the oil tank was moved back to the bulkhead, where the battery presently is, and the battery swapped for one of those small gel batteries, which could be fitted more or less anywhere out of the way, I can see a bit of useable space being created under the front cover, maybe not enough for a couple of helmets, but certainly useful for more than it is now.
Lovely colour by the way Aeroman, and beautifully applied by the factory painters. It looks stunning in that picture.
It is possible that something like this will be a change over time sort of thing. Many have said from the beginning that the space (as little as there is) could have been used in a more efficient way. It is a shame that something like this would not have been thought through a bit more as a seemingly substantial amount of space could have been added here and there had things been relocated slightly.
The worst to me is making the front hood a two man job to lift. Its going to be hard to use any potential space up there when you need to lift the lid off in such a way as it has been designed. Chances are, the rear compartment will be the only vehicular storage outside of the main seating cabin.
