In your defence, I think every age lets their guard down from time to time.

My twenty-something daughter called me last week to ask about a text message she had received from 'The Royal Mail'. It was telling her that she had a parcel waiting and that the sender had not paid the correct amount; therefore, if she wanted it to be delivered, she had to follow the link and pay the balance owing.

She got as far as entering her personal info before questioning it and calling me. Thankfully she hadn't entered any bank details or payment information yet but I imagine many people do. As she had ordered something earlier in the week - online - as so many of us do, she immediately thought the text related to that. An easy mistake and I'd call her tech savvy but obviously illustrates that all ages get snared by these scammers!
