Looks like the squab gasket has failed somewhere and the seat is sitting lower? Pulling the side bolster into the vertical. They usually fail on one side! The seat is a doddle to remove, you can do it kneeling on the ground at the side if the car. six bolts per seat. you may have an electrical connection laying under the seat, if so this is a simple clip to undo, press the tab and pull apart.
To remove the seat from the car lower the backrest fully forward and slide the seat forward in the rails. With the roof down lift the rear of the seat until it rotates into a semi vertical position. Here you are watching the floor fixings bars which are two flat strips of steel bar and they should be sticking out behind the rear of the seat. When all parts are clear lift the seat vertically straight upwards and out of the car. you can now turn the seat upside down and inspect the suspension system from below.

I haven't personally seen underneath the later fancy sports seats but I am assuming they are still fairly similar. If you think Its too much work for you, with the seat out take it to a local trimmer and they should sort it out for you. Seats don't generally break beyond fairly simple repair procedures. Worst case, 20minutes will see the seat back in the car but at least you will have a good idea of what is going on!
