Many thanks everyone for your comments. The consensus seems to be that if I go down the SSL route then front is more important than rear which surprises me (but delights my wallet). What I think I'll do is ask my nearest dealer (Oakmere) to fit adjustable shocks all round and see how that works before I spend more on the SSL. A few people made reference to the Rog's bump assistors which I've now researched and look as they could be a cost effective upgrade also. What I failed to mention in the original post is that my car has brake reaction bars and a Panhard rod fitted by the previous owner so I may already be part way to an optimal solution.
