I've resisted commenting as it was my line of work and in my county.
I did not know the people involved.
I've spoken to some who were there.
It is a shocking tragedy and a total waste of lives.
Bizarrely, some old colleagues I've spoken to said that they never really contemplated the possibility of dying at work...... which I find odd..... perhaps it was a coping mechanism.
The job by its very nature is inherently dangerous.
The mantra used to be:- we will risk our lives a lot in a calculated manner to save saveable life, we will risk our lives a little to save saveable property, we will not risk our lives at all to save lives or property which are already lost.
