Way back in 2003, when we had only just acquired our first Morgan (1985 4/4 in metallic grey), I had a bit of a tumble. My horse (Timmy) bucked me off in a big way and I wasn't able to drive for 6 weeks. Mrs F volunteered to take us out for a drive on condition we stuck to rural roads. She soon tired of me shouting "go on, floor it" and "faster". I then made a mistake on our routing and we returned home via the centre of Melton Mowbray. I have never ben allowed to forget this experience.
In 2009, at the Centenary event in Cheltenham, a deal was struck. I would drive back to the hotel after the DonMog BBQ and concert and Mrs F would drive after the final show. She forgot that:
a) Carburettors and cold engines are awkward in queues.
b) There would be hundreds of Morgans all trying to leave at roughly the same time
She hasn't forgotten that either.
However, a few years later, she won the DonMog car trial outright bringing home both the Ladies Trophy and the Overall Trophy.
She hasn't forgotten that either.
These days, most of her Morgan driving is at the DonMog grass auto test.
