Welcome to TM John. Firstly for obvious reasons power to the clock is permanent so battery must be disconnected (you can pull the fuse near battery) when working on clock or indeed any part of dash. Any momentary single pole switch would work as clock adjuster if present one is damaged, this assumes clock still works though. The power to this is separate from adjusting switch so could you have disturbed this wiring as well thinking

Power to the clock is via body fuse 4. This also feeds door operated footwell lights, so if they still work you can assume fuse ok.

It could be if you worked on a live clock your work on adjuster wires damaged it in which case replacement would be only option. Secondhand one available below.
