Met a guy today at the local coffee spot who has an interesting collection of vehicles, including an old armored tank. I told him it was probably street legal here in Texas.
Austin is insane- F1 crowds are madness, bring a lot of revenue into the city, traffic was snarled due to the political protests yesterday, but today, all the VIPs had motorcycle cop escorts.
I hung for a while at the coffee place, let a few little kids get placed in the driver seat by their dads to get a photo, then headed out to Buda, a nice little town that has grown gangbusters in the last few year- there's a restaurant there the equal of any fancy place in Austin, great food, impressive whiskey selection (no, I did not indulge) and had beautiful weather here for a spirited drive on the backroads with Liz, my wife. Fun.
