Ah the CVH engine, still takes some beating. I liked the pre fuel injection version most it went like the scolded cat! You could change the cam belt whilst eating a bacon sandwich at the same time. Some distributors could cause trouble and from new too but when working well they were an absolute joy! The throttle response was instant and the control it gave just using the throttle was remarkable. I think the most loved engine for me on anything was the Land Rover TD5 the most enjoyed was the Ford 1.6 CVH (carb) engine!
