Hot mash in a brewery? My uncle was a farmer and he bought the spent hops/grain from Buckleys Brewery in the town centre. He fed it to his cows....best milk I ever tasted! Re the brewery, living near it you would sometimes smell the mash.
Cellulose thinners from helping my dad who was a coachbuilder.
Smoked meats.
The peaty smell in Highland Park Distillery on Orkney.
Garlic, except for one occasion. The first hand on one arc furnace used to eat it raw. Walking into the control room to be hit by the overpowering smell.....too much.
Jave Medura tobacco. It was used in the blends for our cigars. If I passed a box of it I'd always grab a handful to smell.
Indian food.
The fresh air when out fishing on the river. Especially in the early hours after a night of sewin fishing ( sea trout).
