Thanks for the feedback George. Yes owned an Elan SE for a short while also in the early 70's. A promising car that needed a fair bit of work. Unfortunately its affinity to lamposts aided by my youthful driving never allowed long enough ownership to sort the car. Guess self preservation instincts hadn't had time to kick in
