Ships and boats have always had names ... likewise railway engines ... warplanes have not only been named but carried artworks of their lucky namesakes ... early cars were often named (especially racers.) ... I think with cars it tailed off with mass-production and cars becoming commonplace bland consumer goods with unsurprising reliability. Although mine isn't named (though it definitely bears the spirit of Ossie the workshop cat who saw it through it's resto lurking in there somewhere!) I'd say Morgans, almost solely amongst current offerings, have enough of the character and traits of pre-war motors to be worthy of a name if owners so choose 🙂
