Agreed, but difficult to enforce here as some vehicles exempt from the MOT (mileage check ?) and ANPR cameras struggle with black 'n silver plates

I can confirm that Mobile Speed Camera vans are able to read B/W number plates smile smile

Speed cameras use a different system to ANPR, basically speed cameras use either Radar or Laser that detect the vehicle even cycles but ANPR uses infra red that relies on reflection of the number plates. Generally black and white plates don't give enough reflection.
