I know that many EV owners do something similar, but TBH I'm really unsure as to actually how necessary it is now that we know that batteries generally seem to outlasting the predicted lifespans by quite some margin so long as they have heat exchangers to permit thermal management. My Mini battery is 34KWh but only 28KWh is made available to the car, ensuring that it can never be over or under charged.
