They have aged very well. The V6 lump does have a weakness though, the fibre teeth on the crank/cam wheels. In my GIlbern I was always worrying about them stripping but never did. Steel replacements were available but said to be noisy.
I rebuilt a Granada engine for a neighbour many years back when the Granada was a then a recent model, My neighbour used it as a taxi and it had done quite a high mileage, when I stripped it and saw the fibre wheel, I must say I was impressed, thinking it to be a better option than timing chains...
