Turns out it was my phone Bluetooth settings were causing the problem not the car, so you can play music without the engine running. Still think it's a lot of money for a few speakers though.
It's in keeping with a Mog...which if we're honest is a lot of money for four wheels and an engine installed into a parts bin kit car
