I agree with your first two points, but a spare tire in the rear—as is still possible today in the Plus Four—was already a feature of the 1939 4-4 Le Mans. Basically, the rear end looked the same back then as it does today. I find the look of a Morgan without a spare tire in the rear incomplete—I like that. Of course, I’m not referring to the version shown here with the tire on the luggage rack; that’s visually unappealing.
