I think Simon has hit the nail on the head! S197 Mustang. Character and attracts nearly as much interest as the Morgan, in the UK AND Europe, and in a nice way.
Interior a bit crude, but dirt cheap and easy to run and character by the bucketload!
If not, I would then go SL55 as proposed by Viper, but I think it's less practical, and certainly more costly to run.
Personally I wouldn't go for a saloon, and (I'm about to ostracise myself from Aeroman and 1560
) as I was very often told when I owned my E55 AMG, it's just a Munich Taxi, on steroids. Very capable indeed, but just not different enough from all the other, poverty spec company cars out there. Maybe the new C Coupe would be better?
Lastly, for that left field choice with character, what about some other yank? At least you don't have to worry about the LHD issue?
