No sledger hammer and nut, just pointing out. simple things like banning coal fire smoke ,creating cleaner environments, cleaning up vehicle emissions, reducing vehicle noise polution has positive benefits for those that experience it's more intensive impact especially more so in built up environments. It not only saves lives it improves the quality of life for many.
So if that means we have to adopt increasingly more regulations, because without them I doubt most people would do anything to improve our lot. If that requires increasingly more sophisticated engine and emissions management systems to clean up our act and leave a cleaner world ,for the generations to come, than we inherited, surely it's a price worth paying.
But unfortunately that may restrict some of the latitude and freedoms we once enjoyed, IMHO a small price to pay............
It's always interesting to see people explore the boundaries, advance our knowledge of all things Morgan, but when others quite rightly point out there are legal consequences ,especially for road use, to what they are doing, they are in my view being responsible in bringing that aspect out in the discussions.......people may not like it, may chose to completely ignore it. What it did point out is that cars can now be impound without warning, and the Police are exercising those powers, so one definately runs a very serious risk of seizure by modifying your car in certain ways eg noise these days.
If people were left to do the right thing on their terms, and in their time, I'm sure we would still have a vibrant coal industry, winter smogs and chronic chest compliants and resultant deaths, which are rarely heard of these days. But that just my humble opinion for what its worth...........I love a coal or peat fire, and do miss them. But without regulations for simple things like which side of the road we drive on, controlling speed in built up areas and so on, it would become a free for all and that is not in our best interests, but striking the right balance is very hard as competing cohorts in society will see injustice of sorts, whether they consider the regulations too restrictive or not restrictive enough.
I also find it interesting in that more powerful, totally legal and compliant in standard form Morgans already exist.
